I have always had a love for hares. Throughout time hares have been considered as sacred animals by many different kinds of people. It was said the Queen Boudicca prayed to a hare goddess before going into battle. The Saxons also worshipped a hare goddess.
This hare explores another mindset of human nature, the cautious part of ourselves, is this for real, can it be trusted, what is coming up to bite me. We are ever looking and waiting for the worst. Cautious of such beauty how can it be for real. Ears pricked and alert, this hare is far less comfortable in his surroundings.
Hares are associated with fertility and the start of spring, seeing a hare, particularly one gazing at the moon is still considered good luck today. It’s about re-birth and growth.

About the paintings & prints
This painting is 'digital art' created on my iPad using a variety of methods, each brushstroke is done with an Apple Pencil, using different mediums available on my iPad. Each piece of art has taken me many hours, sometimes days to complete.

Canvas prints, ready-to-hang
Printed to order on premium canvas, using UV-resistant, solvent-free inks. Then hand-stretched over a high quality FSC-certified spruce-wood stretcher frame (2cm thick). The image is stretched and folded around the edge of the frame, keeping the main image detail on the front of the canvas. The overall weight is surprisingly light, meaning your new picture is easily hung with just a couple of picture pins.
